TABLE AND COFFEE TABLE MECHANISMS

Which criteria matter when selecting table and coffee table mechanisms?

When selecting table and coffee table mechanisms, tabletop size, expected load, movement direction, user motion, connection points and product balance in closed/open positions should be checked together. The mechanism should not only provide movement but also preserve usability and safety.

Which criteria matter when selecting table and coffee table mechanisms?

How is the function defined first?

Before selecting a coffee table or table mechanism, the intended movement should be clarified: lifting, opening, side sliding, folding or storage access create different connection and balance needs.

If the mechanism is selected before defining the function correctly, tabletop dimensions, user force or center of gravity may create problems later.

How are load capacity and balance evaluated?

Tabletop material, tabletop dimensions and user-applied load should be considered together. In lift-up or opening coffee table mechanisms, balance in open position is as important as balance in closed position.

During sample assembly, opening-closing tests should be performed with the real tabletop weight, and connection points should be checked for flexing or looseness.

Why does assembly convenience matter for manufacturers?

Hole positions, connection direction and adjustment needs directly affect production-line speed. Mechanisms that are easy to align and repeatable in mass production require fewer revisions.

Technical drawings, assembly schemes and product visuals should be shared with the production team from the same reference set.
